Femoral Prostheses
For secure support, comfortable walking and maximum freedom of movement.
Tailor-made care for greater mobility
A transfemoral prosthesis is needed when the leg has been amputated above the knee. Since the residual limb in this area often contains a higher proportion of soft tissue, a perfectly fitting socket is essential. We will advise you in detail to determine the appropriate socket system together, whether ischial or transverse oval. This will result in a prosthesis that optimally combines comfort and stability.
We would also be happy to advise you on possible cost coverage.

All important components at a glance
A transfemoral prosthesis consists of several precisely coordinated components. The socket forms the custom-made connection to the residual limb and is individually fitted. A soft liner gently surrounds the residual limb for added comfort. The artificial knee can be mechanically, motor-driven, or microprocessor-controlled and largely determines the range of motion. The lower leg component connects to the prosthesis, providing a stable connection to the foot. Finally, the prosthetic foot ensures a secure stance and a natural rolling motion while walking.
What our customers say
Modern knee joint technologies
The knee joint plays a key role in your mobility. Whether mechanical or electronic, current developments enable a walking experience that closely resembles natural movement. Electric knees provide support when walking, standing up, and climbing stairs. Microprocessors even adapt to your individual movement profile and “learn” your gait to provide you with the best possible support.
